he question arises quite often among young
believers and non-believers as to God's reasoning behind allowing Satan to
remain free with his demons. The purpose is primarily for the testing of
humanity. The following scriptures reveal the purpose God allows Satan's
kingdom to exist.
To Develop Character And Faith In Us
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for
when he has been proved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has
promised to those who love Him. -- James 1:12
Our Faith Is Tried By Fire So We Will Be Found
Worthy
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a
living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an
inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved
in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for
salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice,
though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various
trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold
that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and
glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though
now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and
full of glory, receiving the end of your faith; the salvation of your souls.

We Are Tried To Strengthen Us So We Can Resist
The Devil
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary
the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist
him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced
by your brotherhood in the world. -- 1 Peter 5:8-9
We Receive God’s Promises To Escape The
Corruption Of The World
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the
knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us
all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him
who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly
great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the
divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through
lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith
virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control
perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and
to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will
be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has
forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. -- 2 Peter 1:2-9
Satan Is Allowed To Continue To Keep Some
People Humble
And lest I should be exalted above measure by
the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a
messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. -- 2

He Provides A Conflict For Us To Overcome And
So Be Rewarded
I have written to you, fathers, because you
have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men,
because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have
overcome the wicked one. -- 1 Jn 2:14
We Overcome The Enemy Through The Blood Of The
Lamb And The Word Of Our Testimony
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven,
‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His
Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our
God day and night, has been cast down. ‘And they overcame him by the blood of
the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives
to the death. -- Rev 12:10-11
We Overcome Him Through The Holy Spirit Within
Us
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test
the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone
out into the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them,
because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. -- 1 John

The Rewards For Those Of Us Who Overcome
‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the
Tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.’ ' -- Revelation 2:7

Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second

‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give

stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.’ '

until the end, to him I will give power over the nations; 'He shall rule them

garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will
confess his name before My Father and before His angels. - - Revelation 3:5
‘He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in
the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the
name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which
comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. --
Revelation 3:12
‘To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with
Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His
throne. -- Revelation 3:21
God Demonstrates His Power To The Church By
Overpowering Satan Through The Church
...and what is the exceeding greatness of His
power toward us who believe, according to the working of
His mighty power which He worked ‘in Christ’ when He
raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly
places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every
name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things
to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Satan Is Used To Afflict Mankind To Lead Them
To Repentance
For God may speak in one
way, or in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of
the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction. In order to turn
man from his deed, and conceal pride from man, He keeps back his soul from the
Pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. ‘Man is also chastened with
pain on his bed, and with strong pain in many of his bones, So that his life
abhors bread, and his soul succulent food. His flesh wastes away from sight,
and his bones stick out which once were not seen. Yes, his soul draws near the
Pit, and his life to the executioners. ‘If there is a messenger for him, a
mediator, one among a thousand, to show man His uprightness, then He is
gracious to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the Pit; I have
found a ransom'; His flesh shall be young like a child's, He shall return to
the days of his youth. He shall pray to God, and He will delight in him, He
shall see His face with joy, for He restores to man His righteousness. And he
looks at men and says, 'I have sinned, and perverted what was right, and it
did not profit me.' He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit, And
his life shall see the light. ‘Behold, God works all these things, twice, in
fact, three times with a man, To bring back his soul from the Pit, that he may
be enlightened with the light of life. -- Job 33:14-30
