  G

od does not carry out the punishment of occultists found in the Word of God without mercy.  Today, because of His grace and mercy, God even gives the occultists a season to repent.  God knows those who are His, and He will pour out His wrath at the proper time and justice will prevail.  The Gospel reveals clearly the end of those who do not find salvation.  The punishment will be at the end of the age when God will judge all of His creation.  The following verses shed some light on the practices which God defines as abominations, and the punishments that were/will be handed out as a result of occult practices:

‘You shall not permit a sorceress to live.    -- Exodus 22:18

'And the person who turns after mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. - Leviticus 20:6

'A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.' ‘    -- Leviticus 20:27

For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled with eastern ways; they are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they are pleased with the children of foreigners. Their land is also full of silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures; their land is also full of horses, and there is no end to their chariots. Their land is also full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made. People bow down, and each man humbles himself; therefore do not forgive them.    -- Isaiah 2:6-9

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the LORD, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself; Who frustrates the signs of the babblers, and drives diviners mad; Who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolishness;    -- Isaiah 44:24-25

‘Stand now with your enchantments and the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you will be able to profit, perhaps you will prevail. You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; let now the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from these things that shall come upon you. Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; it shall not be a coal to be warmed by, nor a fire to sit before!    -- Isaiah 47:12-14

And the devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.    -- Revelation 20:10

‘But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,

idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.’    -- Revelation 21:8

There are curses against the descendants of those who become involved with the occult, or, hidden things.  If we know what love is we will be sure to ask the Lord to set them free, for if the Son shall set them free, they shall be free indeed.

CURSES AGAINST THE WORKERS OF INIQUITY

The opposite of a blessing is a curse.  We receive the blessing of God through our obedience to His will.  The unsaved live according to the law and the are subject to curses of the law for disobedience.  There are one-hundred and twenty-four curses the book of Deuteronomy lists in the 27th and 28th chapters.  If we are disobedient and do not walk according to the Spirit, they could all be visited upon us.  This could happen if Satan deceives us into walking under the bondage of the Law, and if we live as if we don't have faith, for 'the just shall live by faith'.  However, in the lives of the children of disobedience, the curses of the law are still active in their lives.  We can easily recognize the symptoms of the accursed.  The curses are not only for individuals but the Law  places a curse on entire countries who do not conform to the Gospel.  The Word considers them 'goat nations'.  The other nations God regards as 'sheep nations'.  These governments usually base the rights of the individual over the wishes or desires of a group of politicians.

The following is a compilation of the people whom God curses and the punishments prescribed for their disobedience:

'Cursed is the one who makes any carved or molded image, an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.' And all the people shall answer and say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who treats his father or his mother with contempt.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor's landmark.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who makes the blind to wander off the road.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who perverts the justice due the stranger, the fatherless, and widow.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's bed.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who lies with any kind of animal.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who lies with his mother-in-law.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who attacks his neighbor secretly.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent

person.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!'

'Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of

this law.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen!' -- Deu 27:15-26

There are twenty more curses listed in the following verses:

‘But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you: ‘Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the country. ‘Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. ‘Cursed shall be the fruit of your body and the produce of your land, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. ‘Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out. ‘The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. – Deut. 28:15-20
